OVFM CLUB MEETING TUESDAY OCTOBER 11th 2016

ten_16_r3

It’s round three of the Top Ten already and last time we had two entries so hopefully we don’t have a commensurate number of films for this session. Perhaps with the summer holidays now over club members will have something to share that documents what they got up to while the sun was out a few months back!

Maybe we’ll find out if anyone from the following list will oblige us:

Jim Morton Robertson

John Bunce

Kuldip Kaur

Barbara Darby

Brian Pfeiffer

Richard & Jess Pugh

Ann & John Epton

Peter Mitchell

Barbara Walker

Annabelle Lancaster

Roger & Brenda Wheatley

As ever if you can’t make your designated round be sure to let either Brenda know ahead of time or reply to this post below, or you have a film ready early, please bring it along as chances are it will be welcomed for screening time permitting.

And if you are bringing a film this week then PLEASE REPLY TO THIS POST in the comments/reply section below, letting us know the film’s run time, format (DVD, Blu-ray) and picture ratio (4:3 or 16:9). This is a great help for us when planning the evening out and helping things run smoothly so if you could do us this courtesy it would be greatly appreciated.

The previous results in this year’s contest can be found HERE.

Thank you and good luck to everyone who enters a film!

  1. W’ell be bringing a film by ‘REGANNA’
    Title “Free on Charge”.
    it runs 1min. 50 seconds 16:9 DVD

        1. Plenty of time to faff about with the kit if a disc or USB stuck doesn’t play… 😛

Anyway, if I’m submitting MEET DEXTER as my top 10 entry then that is another 7 mins 13 sec (DVD 16:9) of glorious entertainment to enjoy! 😀

  2. So last night saw five entries for the TOP 10, including one which was also one of our entries for the N vs S competition, along with two other films, while the evening ending with a selection from our archive.

Kicking off the evening was a film from Reg & Annabelle Lancaster “Free Of Charge”, an amusing little tale about an old fashioned way to solve a modern day dilemma.

John Bunce kept the giggles coming with another short comedy “Back Porch Revamp”, a colourful skit about misunderstanding a simple instruction.

The next entry was from Andrew Watson entitled “Mondial Mobility”,a compendium of clips about people and vehicles in motion set to music, which was followed by an interesting piece from David Laker “Victor Lilia Goes To War” , about a Finnish born man who became a Solider for the Canadian Army and is now laid to rest in Orpington.

My film “Meet Dexter” was next as both a TOP 10 and NvS entry. Usually I would make a humorous comment about how awesome my film was but instead I am cringing in embarrassment as the picture quality was somehow awful. I don’t know what happened but it was fine on all my TV and PC screens at home. So, sorry about that folks.

To save the day were the next two film for NvS. The first was from Jane Oliver entitled “Reaching For The Skies” concerning the youngest ever pilot to fly solo around the world, which was followed by a Colin Jones meta-thriller “The Quest”.

Finally from the archives was a Reg Lancaster film “Rush Hours” featuring a daydreaming Basil Doody while stuck in a traffic jam.

There is just one more round to go in the Top 10 so those who have yet to enter a film have their work cut out for them as this is their last chance to make their mark! Good luck folks!

    1. Hi Lee
Thanks for the good description of the last meeting I missed. Regarding your film, that is serious. If you haven’t solved the transfer/projection issues yet, can we have a word? I am curious!

      Regards

      Ian
